Calbrandt is a world leader in the design and manufacture of foundation or rail tie mounted “automated electro/hydraulic/mechanical systems” including Railcar Movers, Railcar Gate Openers, and Railcar Retarders. Mechanical Engineer
Principal Responsibilities:
· Develop 2D and 3D models (SolidWorks) for heavy industrial equipment.
· Working with PDM vault management.
· Calculating loads and forces on various mechanical components.
· Working with outside vendors, and sales people, getting quotes and lead times.
Education / Experience Requirements:
· Bachelors degree in Engineering or related field
· 5+ years of experience in Mechanical design of plate steel welded assemblies.
· Experience working with, heavy duty components such as; Chain, Large Bore hydraulic Cylinders, Planetary gear drives.
· 4+ years of experience working with SolidWorks & PDM.
· 2+ years of experience working with AutoCAD.
· Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and Adobe Acrobat.
Additional preferred or required qualifications:
· Good Knowledge of SolidWorks design methods for assemblies, subassemblies, parts, and BOMs.
· Understanding of hydraulic power systems and controls.
· Design parts and assemblies for common machine shop practice.
· Ability to handle multiple projects efficiently with attention to detail.
· Problem solving skills with a high mechanical aptitude.
· Travel within the United States, Canada, and other countries.
· Must be able to get a passport.
· Be able to pass a drug test, and background check

Mechanical Engineering/Sales

· Prospect, develop and close contracts with new and existing customers

· Customer Service and lead development
· Maintain involvement on turnkey projects to meet deadlines and budgets
· Working with outside vendors, and sales people, getting quotes and lead times.
Education / Experience Requirements:
· Bachelors degree in Engineering, Business or related field
· Previous sales experience with manufactured equipment
· Experience working with, heavy duty components such as; Chain, Large Bore hydraulic Cylinders, Planetary gear drives.
· 2+ years of experience working with AutoCAD and SolidWorks

Production Supervisor
Essential Job Functions / Primary Responsibilities:
· Schedule production flow through factory
· Manage production staff/hands-on working position
· Organize/maintain physical plant and equipment
· Customer Service/sales of parts orders
Education / Experience Requirements:
· Associates or technical degree
· 5+ years of experience in a supervisory role
· Experience working with, heavy duty components such as; Chain, Large Bore hydraulic Cylinders, Planetary gear drives.
· Familiar with manufacturing processes: (Welding, Wiring, Machining, Hydraulics, Painting) and equipment.
· Working knowledge of AutoCad/SolidWorks
· Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and Adobe Acrobat.

· Problem solving skills with a high mechanical aptitude.

Fluid Power Technician
· Read and understand bill of materials
· Ability to read and understand hydraulic and electrical schematics
· Fabricate, assemble, and test custom mechanical & hydraulic systems.
· Able to systematically start-up, test, run-off equipment / systems on production floor.
· Plumbing and wiring of hydraulic and electrical components
· Able to set pressures, flows, troubleshoot during start-up
Education:
· Two years of post-secondary education in a technical field such as Fluid Power, Mechatronics, or related field.
Experience:
Desired
· 2 years' experience with hydraulic systems, electrical controls – inputs / outputs, PLC controls, PLC programming, and mechanical equipment
· Excellent problem-solving skills
· Flexible and adaptable to fast paced changing environments
· Ability to travel and work off-site at the customer’s facility (commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting). Travel is mid-west, domestic and international.
· Good listening and communication skills
· Ability to communicate clearly by conveying and receiving ideas, information and direction effectively
· Ability to read, write and comprehend English
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and/or guidance
Ability to work both as part of a team and on own initiative
· Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner and gather and analyze information skillfully
Ability to manage tasks with competing priorities and deadlines
